I have 1994 honda prelude SI (2.3 L). The check engine light is on. I did the diagnostic and the code tells me that i have a problem with MAP sensor. I change the MAP sensor but the light still comes on.Does anyone have any ideas??????

usually codes have to be reset. You can pay to have the dealer do it or you can try this. Disconnect one of the battery cables and leave it off about 30 minutes then reconnect. This should give the computer enough time to purge the memory. When you put the cables back on it will reboot fresh from its rom memory and should not register any past codes.

The check engine light is set to come on at a preset millage usually around 60 thousand miles, even if nothing is actually wrong. There is a reset button under the dash or on the fire wall look it up in a manual under the emission control section. just push the button and walla no more light

no scanner required. disconnect neg batt. cable and touch it to the positive. this cleares the codes. if the light comes back on, you havent fixed the problem. check the wiring, and the hose to the map sensor. does the car run well??
