Default on a honda engine swap diagram says to have the ECU wires facing away from you, which way
will that be? should you be looking at the pins or the wires

you have to point the wires facing away from you so nothing will happen to you.

I think what it may B trying to tell you is that to face it towards the passenger seat so your harness could clip on.
