Default My gf and I have Honda Preludes ('91 and '86) that have trouble re-starting when

recently turned off. Ideas? Mine has been doing it a while, but hers recently started. If she turns it off, she has to wait 5 minutes to restart it. Mine has to crank quite a while to start when re-starting.

Well your cars are 15 and 20 years old. That is what happens. Cars die.

You may need fuel pumps. The fuel pumps have valves in them to keep the fuel in the lines so they will start quicker. If that valve goes bad the fuel leaks back into the fuel tank. The fuel has to be pumped all the way back to the motor before it can run.

older hondas like yours run like champs for a long time so people tend to not replace the starter or ingnition cylinder. if it is the starter, after a while your cars may not even want to start. for 13 bucks at sears they will tell you what it is and may even be able to fix it. if its a fuel problem, you might want to take it to a shop. but the best bet is to get that test at sears and go from there.
