I am installing a new motor in my 1985 Honda Civic, EW! carb model. This motor ran in the donor car but will not fire now.

Ok this model of honda has a non repairable distributor. If there is no spark replace the entire dist. There is nothing inside the dist( other then the rotor) that is rerpairable. Beleave me I have been fixing this car and others like it for over 30 years. The civic is the only dist that you cant repair. Most dist have an ignatior inside you can remove and replace, (not the civic) so if there is no spark, it is not the coil, but the ignighter inside the dist. Replace it as an unit, it is not repairable.

This page has a link to engine wiring diagrams for Honda. Click on Wiring Diagrams in the chassis electrical section, then on the next page, scroll down to Fig. 14. The EW1 is the 1.3L engine.http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker...3d80141ba1.jsp
