Depending on the model, replacing the headlight is pretty easy. First thing to do is to remove the electrical connector from the rear of the headlight housing. Depending on the model (especially on the older civic), you may have to remove an air intake hose. Once the connector is off, peel back the rubber housing that seals the headlight housing from moisture. The bulb can then be removed by turning either clockwise or counterclockwise.Some models depending on bulb size (i.e. H1, H2,..etc) may have a retaining clip holding the bulb in place. You may need to undo the clip to remove the bulb. Installation of the bulb is the reverse of removal. TAKE NOTE: DO NOT touch the replacement bulb with your fingers!! The oil from your finger will burn the bulb out prematurely!! If you do touch the bulb, take some rubbing alcohol and wipe down the bulb. Also, make sure you have some extra fuses on hand. Sometimes when you replace a bulb, you may blow the headlight fuse. You can usually get a fuse kit with tester for $8. In fact, you may want to check the fuse just to make sure that the fuse is not blown instead of the headlight. If you don't know your bulb size, here is a good link:
