I'm guessin thats an auto transmission? They require the fluid be changed every 40-50k miles (you can see exact miles in owners manual). Most people never change it, so I would imagine the car has 200k miles on old transmission fluid. Honda also has thier own transmission fluid, it is not available anywhere else. So even if someone changed it they probably didn't use Honda fluid. So the transmission wears out. Those model years seem to be more tempemental than 90's accords, but it is 13 years old it needs rebuilt most likely.

Now if the car is just bogging down the trans may be ok. Check for a bad catyletic converter, fuel pressure, and do a compression check on the motor.

Either a bad shift linkage, or a bad torque converter. Hondas of this era are notorious for transmission failures, so is the odyssey. With car running park with parking brake on check transmission fluid. If low then add some. If not you will have to take it to a transmission shop.
