Default 93 Civic DX, no start?

One of my radiator hoses popped a few weeks ago, car overheated and the head gasket blew. I sent my head to a machine shop to get resurfaced, got new head/intake/exhaust gaskets, piston rings/bearings, camshaft, spark plugs/seals/wires, bolted to torque specs, put it in time, recharged the battery, & will not start. It's getting gas, compression, and sparks. Nonetheless I spent more cash and bought a new distributor/cap/rotor, and main relay, still won't start. I'm thinking it may be the ground cable, other than that I don't have many other ideas. I took my thermostat out, and replaced my water pump a year ago, he checked all the valves, their fine...my dad mentioned a burnt out coil, but I'm not familiar with.that? My mechanic said it may be the timing belt bc it seems loose, doesn't make sense to me bc the cam still moves, I bought the belt haven't got it installed yet though. I'm a female I thought this guy was taking me for a sucker and getting my money, but I've watched him take it all apart and put it back together many times, checking and rechecking. He hasn't charged me extra or anything since we agreed that for the beginning price it would be running. Is there something else it could be? He seems to be out of ideas even though he's ASE certified for over 10 years & owns his own business. Im sick of spending money on new parts and getting nowhere, sick of waiting around, and he's just about had it with my car. Please help, I'm stuck.

Could be the ignition switch. Could also be a burned out coil. Its inside the distributor. I would go for an Accel Supercoil since its cheaper than oem but high performance benefits
