Default Does an SUV (Honda Cr-V) feel safer or worser than a sedan?

I am a nervous driver, I was commuting by train to city for school, so since I got my license at 18 til now (21) I've barely driven much. I am now trying to drive more and more even just for practice so I can get used to it completely (I can drive a vehicle but b/c certain directions, highways, driving doesn't feel natural yet).

I have to start driving to a new job soon (while in school) and I'm planning to get a car, probably used for now. I normally practiced with my parents old Honda Accord ('97) and now with Civic ('11). I really like CR-Vs and I'm curious if it'll make me less or more anxious using a bigger car. Help?

I know someone else who has this nervous problem about driving. She was driving a little Scion XB, and moved up to a Tahoe. At first she was very hesitant, a vehicle that large, especially with her past experiences (couple of side swipes turning). The bigger vehicle has given her more confidence and she feels safer. Her sister is just the opposite, she has to be in a sedan type vehicle that is low to the ground.

I think it all depends on how YOU feel in the vehicle. The more you drive, the more confident you will become. The more confident you become the more that natural ability comes into play and pretty soon won't even be thinking about what your doing.

Good luck with your driving and the new job!

Crv is a very scary car to drive. My aunt has one. I had to drive it on the highway and I felt like it would tip over. It feels very cheap. That's a 2012. The car is better, lower to the ground but I still do t feel very safe in a Honda.
