Default Serious 1995 Honda civic mechanic help!!!?

Okay so i just bought a 1995 Honda civic EX a few months ago. I bought it 2 hours away from my home and drove it home with no problem. I also have drove it back and forth to my closes Wal-mart witch is 45 miles away from where i live. Then i drove it 8 hours away to visit family and it made it there just fine but on my way home it over heated 20 miles away from my town. Every since then every time i try to go up a hill it over heats and i mean every time. I just replaced the thermostat and that was not the problem it is still over heating. and it seems to happen only when i down shift to get up an hill. there is no sign of a blown head gasket in my oil. i hope the head gasket isn't the problem. does anybody have any idea what it could be????? And also every time it over heats i have to put more water in it where is the water going if its not going into my oil???

Please only serious answers i need to fix this its summer time and wish i could travel!

I would check the cooling fans, cooling fan relay and have someone drive the car while you see if white smoke is coming out of the exhaust. If there is white smoke you're car is most likely burning coolant.
