Default Why does my 96 accord rattle at a certain rpm?

When I drive and the rpms start increasing my car makes this horrible clanking noise. I kept looking and pinpointed that it happens every time I'm at 1100-1200 rpm. It doesnt matter how fast I'm going or how long the car has been on it just makes the noise. Its driving me crazy. Help? And im not sure if its coming from the exaust or what

It's called a heat shield, they go between the car and the exhaust piping. they are made of thin crap metal and come loose over time. a muffler shop can take it off for some $, but its easy if you want to jack the car up jiggle the heat shields until you find loose ones and take a pry-bar and start getting medieval in them till they come off.
