Default Replaced headgasket on a 94 civic d16z6 car wont crank now?

Aright I'm good with cars and I have a decent understanding on what could possibly be happening but I would like some other of my gear heads opinion s. Here is the story, I bought a 94 civic ex (non running) from some guy that knows nothing about cars, the situation from what I understand is the radiator gave out when he was driving and it over heated the engine , so his head gasket went bad so he put a new radiator in it and drove the car to base he decided to put a new head gasket ,timing belt And spark plugs. But ever since he did that job the starter won't crank the flywheel. I was thinking timing was off but it wouldn't make a valve hit the piston on those cars, and I haven't rotated the crank yet to see if its seized but since it was driven fine until head was machined and gasket replaced then I'm assuming its not. Maybe he left violent in the cylinders.? If so I will pull the plugs out And try to crank. Ever happen to anyone?

You bought it? I hope you didn't give him more than the $150 it will be worth as scrap.

What is "violent in the cylinders"?

And, I don't know where you got the idea that it's a non interference engine. The D16Z6 is definitely interference.

OK if you get a pry bar and rotate the engine manualy the engine is not seize. Make sure all your timing marks line up, check all wiring specially sensor wire, check for spark and fuel, check compessing on the engine it shouldn be 25 psi of difference. Recomment doing a complete check on every thing what you did on the car because the engine was running before
