Judging by the "They are both coupe" statement shows me you don't know too much about swapping engines. I wouldn't even bother swapping the 2012 si's K24Z7 engine with the 06's K20Z3 because your honestly not going to notice too much of a difference. the HP in both engines vary too small of a noticeable difference and your only gaining a few extra pounds of torque and on top of that the K24 is heavier by about 200ish pounds so that will offset your speed. That said the new K24Z7 (the whole 9th gen civic) engines aren't even that great in my opinion due to the limited modifications you can do. And on top of that these engines are geared more towards economy then performance. Also, swapping in a new engine that won't do much for your already decent K20Z3 engine will just cost you an arm and a leg in the long run, and if your in CA like I am it won't even pass smog so theres no point in swapping. I even seen K20's vs K24s and the K20s beat the K24s every single run. Stick with your K20Z3 si and just build it up. Slap some headers, intake, and exhaust, work on your suspension, camber kit, coilovers, struts, aero, and don't overdo it with your Honda. Its' a beautiful twin cam the way it came, don't try to distort it. Enjoy your car for what it is yo!Remember, the newer gen civics are not tuned for racing like the older ones are (potential wise). These are economy shadows of the once glorious 5th and 6th gen civis. Don't get me wrong I love Hondas and I'm sure your Si is good already, so why try to sell your soul on slapping on an even worse engine.

If you want speed get an older (cheaper) civic and build it. Slap on a B18, B20, or if you even want an H series or K series (if your ballin like that)....that's speed right there.
