Default Where did the surplus of 2009 honda 250cc rebels come from?

After I bought my 2009 250cc Honda Rebel motorcycle in 2012 W/300mi.,Since I bought it, I noticed a lot around with low or no mileage. Where did they all come from? I have had 2 seals go out, trying to discover a solution to my problem. Are these factory seconds?

Not factory seconds, but maybe sitting at a warehouse or dealership for a long time waiting for a buyer. I once bought a 1984 Yamaha that was brand new with 0 miles in 1987. I had a few seals let go and they were replaced under warranty. These bike sit and the seals and other rubber parts can dry out and shrink. It is true that sitting for long periods is harder on a machine than running it. 2008 and a few years after were pretty bad economic times and there were lots of unsold bikes sitting around.
