Default Help I have a 1999 Honda civic lx and I got an oil change from walmart like two weeks ago

and since then..? My check engine light came on then went off and came on and went off and now it's on and won't go off I took it to auto zone and they said they can't read the codes??

I bet AutoZone's cheapie scanner can't pull all the codes.































Time for a shop visit if you really want to deal with this.

First check the dipstick to make sure that you do have enough oil. It is possible that your drain plug might be a bit loose and you are slowly leaking. Go to a competent mechanic to get the code checked. I have nothing against Auto Zone but they are not mechanics.

The oil change and the Check Engine light are probably not related, just a coincidence (unless the oil change mechanic pulled a wire loose or something). I agree that Auto Zone's basic scantool is not sufficient and the car should be checked by a technician.
