Default Is paying $6000 for a 2006 honda civic hybrid with 180,035 miles a bad idea?

I found this car at a dealership and is gorgeous!! for $6,000 looking at the blue book it should retail for about $8,000 so Im getting the deal of a lifetime right? I worry about the miles though, I have heard that Honda's are great cars and they can get up too 300,000 miles or more before they go bad, if that's the case I would NOT have a problem buying it but if is NOT going give me what I pay for, it will be a waste of money. I have a 5 month old baby and need something reliable that might last me for at least 6 years. Does anyone know if this type of car is reliable and good car? thanks

Yes, It's a very bad idea.

What you heard was about the gasoline powered cars NOT the hybrids !

Hybrids are TOTALLY different than their gasoline only models.

AND 300,000 miles is an exaggeration. The gas models can go that far........ WITH..... the...... proper care...... BUT - Who does that ??? (not very many owners, not very may drivers, not many people at all).

Hybrids need extra maintenance and batteries and all kinds of other things that make them work. With 180,000 miles on it, it's gonna have some issues - that's why it's so cheap ! Car dealers don't stay in business by giving away "The deal of a lifetime". If you buy this car, you'll find out VERY quickly - why this car is "The deal of a lifetime"

If it was a gas car I would say "Go Ahead it's a good deal" BUT this is a hybrid car.
