Default What does check engine light code 9 means on a 1994 Honda Civic DX?

This check engine light turns on for a couple of days then turns off and comes back on two or three weeks later. Is the car motor going to fail or stop working? is it an electrical problem....please advise.

Code 9 is the CMP (camshaft position sensor). See the second source for more on what you are up against.
