Default Why are some Honda Civic Hybrids so cheap?

I've been car shopping and I've come across 2 Honda Civic Hybrids, one was a 2009 model and the other was 2008. Both were listed around $9,500. Both seem to have nothing wrong with the car under 100,000 miles, no accidents, one owner. This seem really fishy to me, could there be something wrong with the hybrid battery or something because I've heard many people complain about the hybrids having many different problems with the battery and over time the mpg.
