Default I'd like to widen my knowledge on Honda engine builds and more.?

Okay, so I'm getting a 97' Honda Prelude from a friend, not sure what type engine it has but it runs. Everything is fine. But since I'm getting a Honda I only feel it is appropriate that I learn more about Honda motors and the specs, etc. so I could be more familiar when talking about anything Honda. I mean how stupid would it look if I had a 97' Honda Prelude and I don't even know anything "Honda". Plus I'm wanting to throw in upgrades, tune it, maybe replace the tranny and such. Are there any sites or books I could read that starts me off?

i wouldnt recomend a haynes manual, since you can find just about any repair on youtube step by step. i had a 92 civic lx d15b7 sohc motor. thats the easist motor to learn on i think personly. others will prolly differ of course. but i think the prelude is a h or f series idk lol just look on google for that or check the block where the tranny meets it will say there like h22 or something like that. Hondas are very easy and relativley cheap to build as long as you have the basic skills and tools to pull a motor. if you were to swap the motor your best get will be a k20 or if u want to save money a b18c1. i was going to buy a b18 because u can get about 400+ hp if properly built with forged internal parts and a decent turbo and tune. hope this helped man! good luck!
