Default Why do some people absolutely despise Hondas?

I don't really understand why some people seem to hate every single Honda that has ever rolled out of the factory. Why do people say that they suck no matter what i understand the RICE thing but they just give us a bad name but why do people never acknowledged the Civics, Integras, Preludes or any REAL Type-R ect that have something like 500hp+. Why do some people not bother looking under the hood either they will just see one no matter how nice or powerful it may be they just say "oh it's just a Honda it sucks" and walk away without getting specs. Another one that gets me is that people don't care how much power or how fast they may be,no offense to anyone i have a nice amount of respect for American muscle but i hear this a lot from muscle car fan boys or even truck fan boys. I once showed a muscle/lifted truck fan boy an NSX-R and explained the specs and he said it still sucks because it was a Honda, and i was like dude what? I personally don't like most Chevys but i have a legit reason and that's because every Chevy i have worked on i have had some kind of problem that slowed my down greatly. So there's my rant of the day i just find this extremely annoying

To that one guy- did i not say RICERS give us a bad name swagfags fall under that category People with good Hondas are usually really cool and down to earth. Swagfags drive crappy cars and they think their bad ass because the put a some"Dope"subs in there car and have 5 billion aftermarket stickers and $7000 in mods will get you somewhere that's the glory of a Honda there not expensive

Pratically in general cause Honda cars are underpowered probably or its just some Boys in a V8 American Muscle and they think that their Cars are a lot more faster than those JDMs and look down upon them.Honda still make pretty good Cars though and even though I am a fan of Honda as one of my Family Members drives a JDM FD2 Honda Civic Type R(In Singapore),I still respect those V8s. "Real Driver respect each others Car -? matter if its a JDM,American Muscle V8 or Intalian Supercars or whatever." -Galleon

Because the vast majority of Honda owners just contribute to the stereotype. How many rattle can paint jobs and fart canon Hondas do you see rolling around your town? Its a joke. Your precious preludes are breakfast ("Type Rs" hahahaha) to my cars, even back when they were "lightly" modified. I eat fords and chevys for lunch & dinner respectively. Hondas are good for two things, reliability and mpg, just as you said. Everyone thinks they can throw a turbo kit on a honda and it'll be super fast. It won't. Those drag Hondas that are running fast times? TENS of thousands of dollars invested. Not getting there on your $500 turbo kit. Even then, they won't take a corner too well now will they?

I'll be in the 9s this year, all while maintaining daily drive-ability and excellent circle track/auto x performance. When a honda can consistently pull that off, then you'll get my respect. Until then, have fun with the "super powerful" CAIs and fart cannons.

first off joseph has got to be lacking in the pants area. my answer, people have to hate on something, so why not a honda. hondas are cheap and easy to work on, they are more reliable then any american made vehicle. when you get on cl, you rarely see a honda that has a blown head, shot tranny etc. usually you see a honda that has 300xxx miles but still runs like a champ. i have a clean ef hatch that has a jdm d16zc fresh swapped in, i got it from the original owner and it had 300xxx plus miles on original everything, dpfi and everything, im not going for super speed but hondas look good and last. i am NOT required to put 10000 dollars in it to make it fast or keep it running. parts are cheap and easy to find. i can build 5 hondas for the price it takes to build a muscle car. but i personally love all cars. i live in spokane and we have meets were hondas, dsm, vw, mustangs, bmws, subarus, mercedes and all sorts of cars show up, we all come to admire each others work and no body dogs on someones car, if you dog on someones car, your simply just a low life dick head. who are you to judge anyone for what they are interested in. its just personal interest, simple.

Here is why, Hondas are known to be cheap to modify but why modify a very light car that has a high death rate because they have loose suspension that easily turns over? These kids don't even think of that. They want only more horsepower. Hp in a very light car is so dangerous. They are not made to fly. I advise them to get heavier built performance cars. The only good thing is reliability. Nothing more. I've driven them and driven German cars and don't see why people are fascinated by them. They haven't seen that there's better cars out there. Plus majority around where I live I see they come from the poor neighborhoods which I hate driving by hearing those loud mufflers. They have such high death rates but these kids don't get it! Not to mention theft.
