Default I need help with choosing an engine swap?

Okay I have a 2000 Honda accord 4cl and I don't know If I should get a h22 or a h23 or a j series engine. I want to boost it but I want the right motor that will get me the most power out of my car.. Please help! Thank u

go and join a Honda forum and ask it there. you be able to get a much better answer there then here.

H22 is hands down better then the H23... More horsepower, more torque, better powerband. If you are talking about the JDM h23 WITH vtec, the H22 is still better and would be easier to find/cheaper and you could BAR it unlike the H23.

if you want to stay 4cyl go h22, but I would be hesitant to boost it unless you're only going to run like 10psi. You could get a good J series to get more torque if you like, but that's more displacement and therefore poorer fuel economy. The H22's have FRM reinforced cylinder walls so they can handle a bit of boost, but if you want to go with a whopper you are going to have to re-sleeve the block. Also if you keep the stock sleeves but want to replace the pistons you have to find a low expansion piston, that is FRM compatible with FRM compatible rings or you will seriously mess some things up, just as an FYI. But yes the H22 is WAY better than an H23, the H23 vtec has the same hp but has one more ft-lb of torque, which isn't going to be noticeable. so go H22
