Default 2002 Honda Civic coolant overflow tank is over filled! help plz!?

I was filling my coolant overflow tank and its accidently filled to the top. I can't get it out to drain, will I need to take the battery to get it out or work my way around the hose at the bottom of the overflow tank to bring it down to the max line?

It will overflow by itself. The excess coolant will be expelled
