That sounds like either a poor connection at the battery, alternator, engine block ground post or the voltage regulator or alternator is acting up.Many part stores and auto repair shops offer free on the spot battery and charging system tests.Note if you bought the car from a dealership they really shouldn't of sold the car with a bad alternator etc and if I were you before spending any money on the part and labour I'd strongly recommend that you go back to the dealership or car sales outlet.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it's probably the voltage regulator, it's located inside the alternator and it's probably cheaper to just replace the alternator. If you know someone handy with cars, have the car charging system tested first then maybe get a new/used or rebuilt alternator and have them change it for you.Note a used alternator would be the cheapest there should be a few of those at the local auto wreckers and they run about 35-60 bucks.
