Default Does a 1995 Honda Civic have an electronic speed limiter?

I'm getting one soon and i am going to race (go ahead say Hondas suck or buy a muscle car i don't care because i know my facts) If it does where is it located and how do i remove it because if i don't remove it...well then i mise well show up to a race in 99 prius so if could get some help here i would appreciate it thank you

Well, I will be the last to tell you to buy a muscle car... Cannot go wrong with a civic...

As far as an electronic speed limiter? I am assuming you're referring to the governor.

The speed governor in your is not a physical component that can be removed. It's buried inside the programming in the vehicle's ECU. The ECU is a computer that controls the operation and performance specifications of the engine. To remove the speed governor in your civic, the ECU must be removed and the performance programming must be re-written. I would suggest if you have no experience flashing or soldering honda ECU's, you should probably go online and do some research or find a local garage that has a reputable honda tech who has ECU experience.

In some cases, your ECU may not even have a governer setting enabled. If you have a P28 or a P75 ECU, you should not have a speed governer. This is primarily a setting on newer model Hondas.

If you need further help hit us up on facebook! we would be more than happy to point you in the right direction!

Are you actually talking about speed limiter on how fast you can go? Say past 120 MPH? If so, then don't get a stock Honda hatchback. Aim for a hatch with a nice swap.
