Default What can I do to increase the speed/pick up in my 98 honda civic?

I am not feeling the pick up speed on 98 Honda Civic now and I want to increase it. Can you please give me some tips on what I can do to increase the pick up without swapping out the engine?

The Honda has a strong engine and can be "souped up" a good deal.

But, it costs money.

If you have a local speed shop, talk to them. I think the Honda engines are

strong enough to take turbo or supercharging, plus a lot of other trick techniques

Dont start something you cant finish. We are talking about, literally, several thousands of dollars to do this kind of work.

Basic bolt on such as aftermarket intakes and header will help with response. A basic tune up will help as well.

Head on over to www.d-series.org/forum and check out the NA section. Do research and lots of reading before investing in your hard earned money.

Start small... Strip it, go carbon fibre body parts then, get some extra rotation with a carbon fibre prop shaft

Then maybe induction kit, cams.

If you have deep pockets bore to 86mm

Other than that say good bye to turbos

And hello to a big aftermarket supercharger!
