Default HI,I WAS HITTING THE SIDE OF THE REAR WHEEL ARCH OF MY HONDA CIVIC 2000 NOW THE SRS LIGHT IS...

...CONSTANTLY ON? The reason i was hitting the side of the car was because i was trying to remove a small dent from the rear wheel arch

Now you have to go to a mechanic and have the code cleared. Be sure to tell them what you were doing to the "REAR WHEEL ARCH".

And the next time you decide to hit the "REAR WHEEL ARCH", you'll know what to do when the light comes on again.

Edit: Phil, SRS, or airbags use discriminating sensors connected to the frame... with "unibody vehicles" the body IS the frame, so hitting the fender transmits the impact to the sensor, which may be strong enough to fool the Airbag sensor into thinking it was in an accident, setting a code in the PCM

Body panels have nothing to do with computer system, unless you were hitting it with a bulldozer.
