Default Why does my 2000 Honda accord coupe engaging gear real slow. From park into reverse or drive it

takes 30 sec.? After it engages it's still not fully engaged. If I give it gas it slips off gear again. It is an automatic.

It sounds like you got a tranny problem. You should have it checked out before it creates a chain reaction & screws up something else to.

Your transmission is failing. Sixth generation Honda Accords (1998-2002) are notorious for transmission failures especially models equipped with the V6. You may have to cough up several thousand dollars to repair or replace the transmission which can cost as much as the car itself. It may not be worth it.
