Default What is wrong with my Honda?

I have a 1992 Honda accord ex. the car has been running sluggish. For example after a stop is doesn't catch up. I already tried replacing spark plugs buying a new idle valve but nothing works so I disconnect a cable around the valve and the car runs better has check engine light. Every time I pug it in after doing work the car still runs sluggish but the check engine light is off. I've been going crazy trying to figure this out! Someone help

did you replace what the cable goes to, it could be a wiring issue or something is interfering with the reading to the ecm

also a related sensor or electrical supply problem

You need to run a scan on the engine. It sounds like you are disconnecting the throttle position sensor. Do not replace it because I said that. Have the scan done. That will tell you exactly what is wrong. Then replace that. Auto parts stores will run a scan on your vehicle at no charge as a courtesy. Auto parts stores that do courtesy scans are:

Replace the transmission computer itself. It is located under right side of carpet mounted next to the main ECU. Replace that computer and be all fixed. Next stop would be to remove the shift solenoids, and its screens then make sure they are clean, as it could be the culprit.

These answers are ridiculous, and you shouldn't just unhook stuff in hopes it will run better, take it to a professional,, good luck

I like how the Acura Technician tells you to take it into a professional. Wonder if dealerships pay for people to come on forums and tell people to take into professionals/dealerships so they get more service work.

That being said, I would probably take this one into a professional. hahaha
