Default 1991 Accord Automatic transmission

I recently had my rear motor mount changed and now I'm getting a whirring/whining sound from the transmission. Could this be related? I don't think it's a cv axle and the belts have been removed (it's not alternator or power steering pump) The noise does not sound like a bad wheel bearing. With the wheels off and running the noise does not start until the car shifts into 3rd gear and it remains in 3rd and 4th gears. If you shift into neutral when driving the noise also remains at speeds above 40mph. This really has me concerned as this is my wifes daily driver. Thanks for all replies

Could cv axles cause this sound if they are not clicking? The boots are good I'm just hoping it's not the tranny. Sound wasn't there before motor mount change.

Answered my own question today. Was the passenger side wheel bearing. If you have sound that starts around 30mph and gets worse up to 60mph don't discount a wheel bearing just because it isn't a rumbling or clicking sound, or doesn't get better/worse by turning left/right. Mine sounded more like a turbocharger. Really had a time diagnosing this as it wasn't a customary bearing noise. Had one mechanic tell me I needed a new transmission. Hope this helps others.
