Default whats a good material to sound proof my honda hatch?

Its really noisy with my exhaust and road noise i have to crank my music and even then its drowned out when i accelerate. I'm looking for something that will work (I've tried Dynomat and products like it and they all sucked and barely affected the noise). I have the CX model civic so there's like nothing in my doors its bare metal everywhere except where I've put Dynomat. Any suggestions would help ( and no i cant sell for a nicer car lol )

Egg cartons. Specifically the papier mache ones. I use them for my music room. I bought about 200 of them and stapled them to the walls and the door so my wife could watch TV without listening to my rendition of "Free Bird". I don't think you will need 200. Collect them from family and friends. Stuff them in the doors and glue them to the trunk walls and lid. Fill under the seats and I will bet you will have some nice cheap sound proofing. Do not use the styrofoam ones. They are not environmentally friendly and go up in flames in a moments notice.
