Default Can I install an immobilizer in a 1997 Honda accord EX?

Theres been a LOT of Honda thefts lately and I'm trying to take preventive measures, I wasnt sure what I should do or buy I was thinking of a stealing wheel bar or a break lock is there anything else besides an immobilizer that works? Because they've been hotwireing. Also im 19 and know very little about cars

Get a different car. The #1 car to be stolen in the USA is the Honda Accord. You can put a junk yard dog in the back seat, wheel blocks, locks, chocks, chains and bars. A thief will defeat it if he really wants it. Just remember the old saying, "A lock is there to keep an honest man honest." I recently saw an article in Germany where a car theft ring was using a fork lift where they lifted the car on to a flat bed, hooked the forks to a slot in the bed and lifted the forklift up and drove away. From pulling up to the BMW until it was gone took about 45 seconds.

An alarm with starter kill and ignition kill. Even if it costs more ask for it to be installed somewhere besides under the driver side dash, under the shifter is a good spot for that car.

Its important to know that nothing will 100% prevent it from being stolen however the more layers of security you have the better the chances you have. So use an alarm, steering wheel lock, some kind of tracking system like lojack would be good.

if you do not want to be stolen.
i think the best way is to buy a cheap car, maybe second-hand.
the car looks old, the thief may not steal it. lol
what you can think the immobiliser, the professional thief can think too.
