Default Why wont my 1995 honda accord start 60% of the time?

My car is acting very weird. I other wise runs flawless. Some times even though you have a strong battery if you jump and then it will start. We have ruled out the starter, alternator, battery. I removed the battery cables yesterday and put them back on and it started right up. Today I did the same thing and it still didn't start. The cables are as tight as they get, although you can pull the positive off and slip it back on and the engine turns over just fine. Shall I be checking the rotor and cap? Is there a piece of metal I could use to make the positive cable not slip off. lots of questions. thanks in advance for your help.

Two reasons. The battery started out fresh cranking fine for nearly 45 min. # We just tried potting the cables on the battery one day after we had drained it, and one time when we had not depleted it at all. we were were just leaving no stone was left unturned.

How can you claim your battery is good if it needs to be jumped to start?

It sounds like the battery cables are ready for replacement. They tend to crack and then won't tighten.

The most likely cause of not starting, assuming the starter is turning the engine (it sounds like that is true), is the fuel pump relay, called the Main Relay. There are details and a test in the first source. The second suspect is a bad ignition switch, details and test in the second source.
