Default I have 17'' rims on my 96 civic cx idk what brand but what socket size do i need to remove them?

They are a 5 spoke 4 lug style rim, ive tried a 11/16 socket and it fits around the lug area perfectly but doesnt grip the lug itself? I recently purchased new tires and rims the are 15'' rims 4/100 bolt pattern 4 lug style if that makes a difference or not.

I currently have the 17'' on i want to put on the 15'' and no they are not the key type.

You need metric... Size 14 I think. Also do you have lock-nuts? If you do you will need the key, or just keep trying socket sizes until it fits, and don't just a normal ratchet, you will most-likely need more leverage.

maybe the new lug nuts you have need a key?? check for that or if its not a lock just keep checking different sizes use metric and stanard..it matters!

Wheel sizes make no difference in the socket used to remove them. It all depends on the lug nuts. I had a 97 civic 4 door that required a 19mm socket. check in between 19-21mm. If the wheels have been tightened with an impact drill, you might want to use a breaker bar as leverage, considering impact tightened is usually very difficult to remove.
