Default Looking for a reason why my 2001 Civic jumps RPM's between 2nd and 3rd gear?

I have a 2001 Civic w/95K miles on it. The trans fluid was changed at 45K and now at 95K. The trans. has a way of sliding the rpms about 3-400 over where they should be between the 2nd to 3rd gear shift, and the 3rd to overdrive shift. I had Amsoil fluid changed in it last month without any success. The tranny shop said the problem was an electronic problem in the fuse box under the hood. The part is all of $32 at the dealer and after it was installed, it really didn't fix anything. The car was tested with a electronic monitor and all it showed was the item replaced. Not sure where else to look. Ideas?

I would say something in transmission or shifting computer is slipping causing the high RPMs before engaging like a slipping clutch would do on a standard tranny

The syncros might be acting up not letting the clutch engage, so the ECU makes the rpms jump to "force" It into gear. Have your syncros checked.

Debris at Line pressure solenoid/ valve body. Not enough line pressure= not enough clamping force at friction/metal clutch packs. Simple as that.

Do a drain and refill 3-4 times with Honda DW-1 fluid (around 2 quarts each time). After each drain, drive and let the tranny go into all its 4 gears(5 if you count reverse.)

45k and 95k was probably a drain and refill which explains why your valve body may be plugged. It will not give you any trouble codes.
