So you a lot of opinions and staying OBD1 is best. Do NOT go b-series, it won't pull that boat ancher. You will either need to go H22(if you want more power/torque) and the entire H22 swap would cost, 2 grand. It comes with 200-220 horsepower, depending if you get the type-S. Or you can stick to the stock F-series, but the H22 is a lot better. You could also do a K20 or K24, but unless you have 6-8 grand just for the swap alone, you don't want this.

Are you planning to fix it up for racing? If not, then you don't need to swap for a stronger motor. Just stick to the original F-series motor. Shop around to see who has the best deal for a stock motor.

You should stick with the same model of the motor.

if a lil speed is all you looking for then stick with your f series motor and do minor modifications to it,but if you looking for something worthy, h22 head with a h23 bottom block then boost, the only problem is its probably gonna feel more like a v8 after ,otherwise h22 motor as stated above is the way to go
