Default Honda antenna installation?

i have 94 honda civic ex just installed a new radio its a pioneer head unit and i just installed a new factory antenna from honda everything hooked up right antenna is installed and hooked up to the radio, radio works but the power antenna does not move i have speakers but havent installed them yet could not having speakers have anything to do with it? Like i said everything is hooked up right the antenna cord is hooked into the port in the back of the radio and the radio works but no antenna movement does anyone know why or maby i did something wrong?

The only thing I remember about power antennas is that they would up and down with turning on and off the power source on the radio. When you turn on the radio, the antenna should go up. I don't think the speakers would affect the antenna.

I think the key word here is Pioneer. Unless the Pioneer radio has an antenna wire specifically to use for the antenna circuit to go up/down, it won't. While you have the antenna connected to the appropriate hole in the Pioneer unit, it needs more than that to make the up/down motor to work. If your Honda has a connector where the antenna goes through the fender, it won't work. I'm sure it does since you spent the money on it.































Look on your Honda radio for a separate wire that raises and lowers the antenna. If not, you are going to have to find it in the wire bundle. Read your users manual on the Pioneer to see if it does in fact have that option. If it does and everything is properly connected, then possibly there is a fuse malfunction.
