Default I want to buy a 97 honda civic?

I found a 97 honda civic for $1800...the body has 211000 miles and the motor has 120000 miles. Its clean very nice body. i test drove it runs good and my mechanic was with me and told me i would be stupid if i dont buy it because its a good deal for the car. i been having bad luck with cars and i get real nervous when buying cars. my last car was a 2000 toyota corolla and it had 145000 miles but 2 months later it broke down on me. The motor blew out. I'm just worred that I'm gonna have to many problems with the honda I'm looking at. But I hear those civics are great on gas. Do u think its a good deal on that car?

Well, if you trust your mechanic, then listen to him. I wouldn't buy any car (especially a civic) with any engine mods or off brand "performance" parts. Stock is best. Good thing is those motors are dirt cheap from japan so if something happens to it, while it will suck, you can get one for a good price. Oh, and make sure you check the oil levels so this one doesn't blow up too.
