Default 1999 Honda civic full exhaust?

Im looking to do a full exhaust on m 1999 honda civic, but i don't want it to be obnoxiously loud. I still want it to sound good and get a lot more air flow than the stock exhaust.

Don't do it. Assuming it is a d-series motor, look in a junkyard for a 2000 EX exhaust manifold; it's basically a 'tri-y' header. Option B is to find an aftermarket version, but don't go cheap. Try to also get the stock exhaust, though 1996-2000 EX pipes are all the same. Why? These are all unpolished stainless steel. Unless you have a turbo/supercharger this exhaust works very well, here's no need to go larger (2.25 inch), and it will last a very long time. The b-series exhaust is similar, though not totally compatable.

Sound is mostly determined by the muffler. Swapping it out will affect the noise the most. If you do change it research and choose wisely.

The only improvements might come from - either using an aftermarket, performance catalytic converter or going sans catalytic converter and using a straight-pipe instead. I picked up noticeable power from my straight-pipe.

Go for a 2.5" system with the same size outlet & I think you should be fine as far as noise levels.

I've got a 99 civic Si and I've got high grade polished headers (skunk2) going into a full Apex'i exhaust system, now it's not a rice sound, I wanted somthing that was rather deep and sounded good, (don't give me that shit about a v8) only thing I have on mine is when VTEC kicks in the car becomes very pissed and screams at you witch it grew on me, if you want something that sounds good like sport wise, stay away from pep boys, auto zone, and flea markets, goto you're local junk yards, try maybe ebay just be careful on there, best of luck!
