Default B16 head or gsr head on b18 motor?

Hello ive been thinking of installing a b16 head or gsr head on my b18 but iam looking to make it faster either with vtec or more torque wich do u recommend? Also, when it comea to vtec, if i was to install a b16 head do i have to buy additional accesories to activate vtec after b16 is installed? Would i also need new pistons or rods? Or new headers? Right now my motor is b18 LS with Ls tranny all motor stock with only air filter

LS vTec ticking time bomb, it's not if it will blow up its when. Just get a GSR trans and bolt it to your LS block it will help out so much.

The problem with the Frankenstein swap is that the VTEC was not made for the LS engine. Even worse, they usually aren't built right. That's why there are so many failures. You have to understand the seriousness of this. A VTEC head is designed to deliver the goods at higher RPMs- which works for the B16 and B18C GSR engine because they are short stroke, meaning they are designed to be revved to higher RPMs to be in their powerband. Your LS engine is a B18B- which is really a different engine altogether. Yours is long stroke and has a slightly larger displacement- meaning you'll for better torque on the low end, but your top end isn't as high. The B18C and B16s are the complete opposite. Naturally the VTEC head wasn't designed for your engine so there are a lot of issues caused by this. However, a really builder who has lot of experience and building these is vital to the durability of this engine. I would NOT recommend building this yourself. You do need other stuff to build this right, but I would recommend going to an expert who will worry about that for you. If it's too much moeny, go with the GSR tranny. like the previous answer said. You will definitely notice a improvement in acceleration.
