Civic SI specs:

engine: B16A2

Displacement: 1,595 cc (97.3 cu in)

Bore×Stroke: 81.0×77.4 mm (3.19×3.05 in)

Compression: 10.2:1

Power: 160 hp (119 kW) @ 7600 rpm & 112 lb·ft (152 N·m) @ 7000 rpm

Transmission: Y21

Redline: 8200 rpm

Rev Limit:8200 rpm

VTEC Engagement: 5800 rpm

Aluminum Casting

0-60 7.9 sec

Mustang Base specs:

BASE ENGINE SIZE 3.8 LCAM TYPE Overhead valves (OHV)

CYLINDERS V6VALVES 12

TORQUE 220 ft-lbs. @ 2750 rpmHORSEPOWER 190 hp @ 5250 rpm

TURNING CIRCLE 37.1 ft

0-60 7.5-7.9

they both have similar horse power but the mustang has more torque, but is heavier.

having close HP but the civic being lighter gives it the advantage for acceleration so for a 1/4 race it's probable it will win.

These specs were based of the B16A2 engine one of several B16 engines. If available with a B16B I would choose that.

Simple add-ons to close the HP gap.

Cold air intake

The SI has much closer gear ratios which make up for the lower power rating. The SI will be faster through the 1/4 mile beyond that the extra power of the Mustang will allow it to catch up.
