Default My MGF was very well maintained by the previous lady owner so the antifreeze....?

....should of been added at each service and MOT? I am worried about adding new Anti- Freeze to a closed system if the MGF has one, and don't know which to buy where to put it? if you can help again I really appreciate that. Thank you. Steve.

On any Rover K series engine I'd flush and replace the entire cooling system annually.

Assume nothing about the cars or otherwise a previous owner has lavished on a car, and particularly not on one of these things.

If you are uncertain about the antifreeze you can buy a cheap tester to verify it's strength. See link.

I would be inclined to flush the system and add 50:50 mix of universal antifreeze when convenient.

You don't need a test. Suck a bit of coolant out a few drops and put it in a plastic tray in your freezer. If it goes solid overnight it's too weak. Freezers go to -20.

Any ethylene glycol antifreeze is fine. MG don't make antifreeze. They used to buy it and charge double for it in an mg labelled bottle.

Coolant should be completely replaced every 4 years.
