Default Is having to repair a transmission bad when purchasing a Honda pilot?

Im looking to buy this 2003 honda pilot and the seller said that the transmission is starting to slip? Is that fixable or bad and should I keep looking? Its selling for 5000.

go on kelly blue book and look up the value of the car. but then call around and see how much it would cost for a new or rebuilt trans. me, personally i would pass. trans can cost like upwards to $3000....

Replacing or rebuilding a transmission is bad in ANY vehicle!!! Chances are you'll end up spending AT LEAST $1800 or so.... Most likely more. DEFINITELY more if you want a new tranny instead of a rebuild.... Most I've ever heard of was on a 98 explorer for $2400.... Not worth it if you ask me....

That honda pilot is known for transmission problems. Very expensive to fix and little chance it will stay fixed. Just google 2003 honda pilot transmission problems. You will see what I mean.

My family owns a 2004 Honda pilot and still i drive the car, in my opinion its one of the best car i ever drive. It currently has over 100k miles and has had zero problems. Maintenance like changing oils, tires, breaks, normal wear and tear for any car. Honda are the most reliable dependable and famous cars on the world. 100k miles is just breaking it in if it has been maintained right it should exceed 200,000 miles easily.......so i think you can trust about it. Good luck
