Default 1999 civic check engine light flashing?

Help please! I have no knowledge about cars what so ever. I was driving and my car started jerking. The check engine light was flashing and my car lost power. I stopped for a couple of minutes and drove back home (I was 3 mins away from my house). When I drove back home, my car seemed fine. What's the problem? Please help. I changed my o2 sensor 3 moths ago. I did a little research and it said it can be spark plugs (I bought the car 2 years ago and is not sure if the person I bought it from changed it). How much will it cost?

first thing you need to do is have the car scanned to see why the light is on. don't just guess. After you find out why it is on then you can find out how much a fix will cost

Check Engine Light means that the car IS misfiring (not all 4 cylinders are firing) or has encountered a misfire. I would suggest not driving it, and getting a MIL scanner from autozone. Could just need sparkplugs or could be toast. Best of Luck!

you need to get the codes read if you know how then its going to a shop. If you have not done a tune up that is part of the problem the catalytic converter may need to be replaced as well but you wont know until the mechanic does a diagnostic . cars need routine maintenance and a tune up and oil change fuel filters and air filters are all part of the deal and need to be done occasionally ok? When you turned it off and then back on it may have reset itself but that is only temporary. Your computer knows the car more than likely needs some minor work. hang in there the car will get fixed. IF you still have the owners manual look through it because it could help you with doing the routine maintenance.
