Default At what point should I replace the timing belt in my 2000 Prelude with 24K miles on it?

I just bought the car and even though it is low mileage, I don't know the condition of the belt. I'm not even sure if the dual overhead cam motor as one! Any ideas would help. Thanks.

for about $40,I would replace it now..You can buy aliot of belts for the price it cost to repair a car with a broke one.

Right away. The belt is a rubber product and should be changed every 7 years regardless of miles. The 2000 Prelude had a belt.

The belt is recommended to be replaced every 7 years or 105,000 miles whichever comes first. With it being a rubber product, ozone in the air attacks it and makes it weak. Even though it is low mileage, I would get the timing belt and the exterior/drive belts replaced.

I'm sure in 7 years that belt will be toast. Dumbasses... When you buy a used car all the belts and fluids should be changed asap so you know how old the blets and fluids are.
