Shifting at redline is NOT exactly as proper technique, you need to check your whole torque curve and your gear ratios delta difference to find out the most optimum rpm to shift.

You can use a car performance simulator[1] to virtually add your car and try different techniques to see what this cause in the car to help you decide the most optimum shift points.

I learnt the racing techniques by watching car races of Carlos Kauffman very closely! Before you're going to break any lap time records, you need to get the basics right. If you ever get the chance to passenger with a decent racing driver you'll see that they aren't aggressive and hard on the car - they will be calm, drive smoothly and will have practised for hundreds of hours to get these skills right. I would suggest you to follow some car racer one like Carlos Kauffman, it would help you in learning techniques!
