Default 2001 honda accord with blown transmission?

im looking to sell this car its got a blown transmission and my dad wants me to get 2000 for it whats a decent selling price for a car in this condition.















yea not gonna lie there is body damage prob needs a new catalytic converter before itll pass smog and theres 170000 miles on it so i keep telling my dad we prob wont get more than 1000 and thats a stretch but he doesnt believe me because hes a stubborn old persian man with stubborn old persian used car salesman friends

You may have a hard time getting that much for the car. It will depend on what model it is, how many miles it has and its condition.

LOL. Any junkyard will give you at least $200 for the vehicle for scrap metal value. You would get more selling off its parts individually on eBay or Craigslist, but two grand? Good luck with that.

In good condition the car is worth around $4500 (according to kbb.com) but it requires $2000-$3000 for the transmission and another $1500 for a Honda catalytic converter. It will be tough to find a buyer at any price but the most likely buyer will be somebody who is going to put in a wrecking yard transmission himself. $1500 would be a price you could both live with - ask $3000 and let him bargain down from there.































I lived in Teheran for about a year when I was young. My dad took me along to the bazaar a couple of times and from what I saw your dad is probably one of the toughest bargainers in the world.
