Default Why do the lights in my Honda flicker from time to time?

Hi, I have a 2000 Honda Civic Ex automatic 120,000 miles good condition bought it 3 yrs ago i been having a problem for a good minute now . It seems to be an electrical problem although I'm not 100% sure about. The problem occurs only when the car is on and engine running, never happens when the car is on but the engine is off if you know what i mean, all the lights including the little buttons on the dash and the inside lights the headlights everything flickers like if the car is dying or if there is a short something. Lights seem to flicker to the motion of the engine. This doesn't happen every time and sometimes it only last a few minutes. Sometimes it happens when I'm driving in the freeway and even the SRS light turns on momentarily. Can anybody identify the problem for me does it have to do with my car rpm idling around 700-800 when not in motion? If anybody knows the problem let me know please!! you can email me or just response to this my email is efthasystem@yahoo.com thank you!

Check your battery connection. Shouldn't have anything to to with the rmp level unless it is trying to stall (standard transmission) or misfiring. Also out could be the diode in your alternator.

check if your battery terminals are dirty. the idle speed is normal. Also have the alternator checked but first check the battery terminals.

It sounds like a battery terminal might just be loose. I know when my 99 is idling the engine shakes around a bit, and it might just be shaking the terminal a bit. I'd just check to make sure the terminals are completely on and tight to your battery.
