Default Help! Problem with 2008 Honda Ridgeline?

I have a honda ridgeline and it is hard to turn when I am at low speeds. It has always been this way ever since i bought it used. I went to the shop today to get the oil changed and they said I may need a power steering pump. Has anyone with a ridgeline and/ have the same problem?? I thought it was normal.. Thanks

Where did you get the oil change? Sometimes people say you might need something that you really dont need i would just take it to a honda dealership.

Check the steering fluid. Then check for leaks in the steering fluid line.

My guess is that your power steering fluid was low, which caused the power steering pump to fail slowly over time. That would make it hard to turn.

Completely normal. It is not a common problem on any car. It depends mostly on power steering fluid. It should always be kept at the right level.

Take the vehicle to a Honda dealer. They can hook a pressure gauge to the system and see if there is an issue. The Ridgeline for the most part didn't have an issue with the power steering pumps but that isn't to say they don't go bad. (Odysseys on the other hand always had pump issues). If the pump is determined to be bad, replace it with either a Honda new pump or Honda reman pump, don't get a reman from the aftermarket because they are worse than what you take off, usually.
