timing belt and water pump are due at 90k miles . make sure its been done. get a car fax. but yeah if it looks and drives good. sounds like a decent deal. you should really pay around 6-6500 $ for this car especially if the previous owner cannot say anything about the maintenance and upkeep. make sure it has a clean title as well. set aside 5-600$ for the timing belt just incase they did not do it. you do not want to drive this car unless it has been done. if the t-belt breaks it will ruin your engine. then your screwed.

Not bad of a deal.

Is it a I4 or a V6?

The 06 I4s Accrds doesn't use a timing belt. They use a timing chain which doesn't need to be replaced.

Timing chains generally lasts the length of the engine itself.

If it's a V6, they use timing belts which needs to be replaced every 60-80k miles. Give or take.

Some people run their belts for more than 100k miles but it's a real gamble. If it fails, your engine fails and you're looking at a complete engine overhaul which equates to a *beep* load of money.

Check air filters, AC filter, tire treads, brake pads, and a centered steering column.

People generally forget when to change their cabin air filter. Which needs to be replaced around 15-20k miles. So don't forget to check that or your cabin is going to smell like a musty closet.

If it's a private party deal, ask the owner if he's keeping up with maintenance. Oil change, transmission fluid, etc. Records are great also.
