Default 2006 Honda Civic 16 year old girls first car?

I'm 16 and I'm about to get my first car. I went to some dealers today with my mom to look but I didn't really see anything in my price range that I really liked. I found a 2006 Honda Civic on craigslist that is for sale by the only owner. The owner is asking for $10,000. 85,000 miles. 30 mpg town, 40 mpg Highway. Claims to have new tires and new inspection. I reeeaaalllyy like this car it's good looking on the inside and out, it has leather seats, a sunroof, good gas mileage. I want to contact this person about seeing and test driving this car but I don't want to buy this car and then it breaks or I have a bunch of problems with it. I wanted to get someone elses opinion on this car. What is the reputation of the 2006 Honda Civic? Is it safe? Is it reliable? Does it have a lot of problems? Is it a good first car for a 16 year old female?

Check out Kelly Blue Book, they are very reliable. In my opinion that is a great first car, Honda has a good reputation for being safe, reliable, and well built.

I would choose for you case 4-door 4-cyl not sporty car, preferably Japan make, cause it cost much cheaper to insure for begginer drivers. You also need to check before buying insurance rates here - car-ins.rab7net.org

yes IMO its a great 1st car, plenty reliable, & safe. forsure look up reviews on it if u want to know about reliability and safety.

id say kelley blue book it to make sure ur not getting overcharged(sounds a lil high for a non Si civic)

and if u do get it, dont forget to join 8thcivic.com (lots of useful info on 8th gen civics (8th gen civic = 06-11 civic)

as far as the other answers, i wouldnt say the 2dr would be alot more to insure then the 4dr, however a general rule of thumb is 2drs typiclly have a slightly higher insurance premium.
