The only F series I've heard and know are 2.2s (F22) or 2.3s (F23) and never heard of a head swap between F and D. H22/H23 used to be done on F22/F23.

Either I'm an idiot or your friend is. Swaps with the F series and H series were common 10 or so years ago.

H23 DOHCs were japanese (maybe european) preludes, never had them here in the U.S. unless they were imported.
